Paper
grade
vs. Paper
weight
:
Paper
grades
run "one-to-five";
see
"good news"
at bottom.)
For the opening gala of a Rodeo Drive
boutique, print a small quantity of
grade one. Grade one is "brite-white-92";
reflects 92% of light.
Paper
weights
in the US range from bible-stock
to high-strength packaging, and with variation
from-specialty-to-specialty (ink goes everywhere).
That variation includes vocabulary:
within commercial printing, there is
Bond, Book, Bristol, Cover, Index,
Offset, Tag, Text, and digital ("10pt-c2s"
designates a bright, thick paper stock,
ten-one-thousands of an inch thick,
coated two sides  --   "10pt-c1s" is
coated one side, of course  --  chosen
mostly for covers).
And here's the good news, as promised above:
quotes are first sent to you by email, then
copied to you by FedEx, with marked samples.
